PHILLY BRINGS BROTHERLY LOVE (AND BEER)
TO THE BLUE POINT BREWERY CASK ALE FESTIVAL

January 18, 2007 – Patchogue, NY – Blue Point Brewing Company, the award-winning Long Island microbrewer, will host their 4th annual CASK ALE FESTIVAL on Saturday, January 26th, 2008. It will offer the attendees something quite unique when the Brewmaster taps the world’s largest cask holding nearly 10,000 pints of his new, custom brew, Rye Hop Knot. For the first time, the Blue Point Brewing Company will welcome some of their friends and fellow brewers from the City of Brotherly Love to be part of the festivities.

Blue Point Brewing Company will welcome Legacy Brewing Company and the award-winning Sly Fox Brewery to their upcoming Cask Ale Festival. “The addition of these two strong craft beer brands from Philly will be a special treat to the Long Island festival attendees,” said Mark Burford, Brewmaster at the Blue Point Brewing Company.

Legacy Brewing Company, located in the Philly suburb of Reading, PA, produces amazing craft beers. It is able to deliver unique, handcrafted, high quality beer by employing brewing techniques learned from both European and American brewers. Legacy Brewing Company will be presenting their Nor’ Easter Imperial Oatmeal Stout at the Cask Ale Festival.

Receiving both a Gold and Bronze medal at the 2007 Great American Beer Festival competition, Sly Fox Brewery made Pennsylvania proud. On January 26th, they will meet up with the Blue Point Brewing Co. at the Cask Ale Festival. Sly Fox will be presenting two great beers to Long Island beer lovers attending the festival—Christmas Ale and their Odyssey Double IPA.

Several other breweries will be joining the celebration, including: South Hampton Publick House, Black Forest Brewery, Long Island Meadery, Brooklyn Brewery, John Harvard’s Brew House, The Brickhouse Brewery, Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, Iron Hill, and Keegan Ales. Award-winning Chef Eric Rifkin, owner of Bobbique, will be on-site preparing delicious food to compliment these fine craft beers.

The Cask Ale Festival will take place on Saturday, January 26th, from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Blue Point Brewery—161 River Ave. Patchogue, New York. Tickets to the event are $30.00 and designated drivers are admitted for $10.00. Tickets can be purchased online at the www.bluepointbrewing.com or at the brewery on the day of the event for $40.00 if tickets are still available. Attendees will receive a half-pint English-style commemorative glass and six tasting tickets (additional tickets are $3 each). Plus, they will also receive a coupon good for one free half-gallon growler of beer to be redeemed next time they visit the tasting room at Blue Point Brewery. Only those 21 and over with valid photo ID will be admitted to the event.
