New Website Highlights Local Celebrations And Supports Year-Long Education

April 1, 2009 - Bay Shore, NY – Starfish Junction Productions, publishers of the monthly Green Living Newsletter ( announced today the launch of a new website to service the Long Island community, The site will serve as the go-to source for local events celebrating Earth Day, the national day of eco-awareness and eco-responsibility. has been populated with information highlighting island-wide Earth Day events as well as instruction and information for year-long eco-friendly living.

"At first glance the new site celebrates Earth Day," said Andy Calimano, co-owner of Starfish Junction. "Our goal is to provide year-round information that encourages Long Islanders to live a greener more eco-friendly lifestyle," added Calimano.

After reading a brief history of how Earth Day began, visitors can click on the "Events" tab to see details of events happening all across Long Island. The "BeGreen" and "Great Reading" sections offer valuable information on important topics, including recycling, the environment, earth-friendly shopping, maximizing energy efficiency, determining your carbon footprint, and more. These sections, as well as the "Fun For Kids" section of will continue to grow throughout the year.
