More than 80 Breweries to Participate at
Inaugural Valley Forge Beer Fest, December 10th

OAKS, PA-December 2, 2011 - The producers of the first annual Valley Forge Beer Fest being held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA announced today that the brewery list for the upcoming beer fest has exceeded all expectations, tipping the scale at 82 participating breweries.

"The response from the breweries, brewery reps, and distributors has been absolutely amazing," said Andy Calimano, owner of Starfish Junction Productions, the event producer. "We have this kind of participation for our Philly Craft Beer Festival, but that show is six years old. This response for a first-time show is an incredible sign. We planned for 50 breweries, we'll showcase more than 80. The attendees are in for an amazing experience," he added.

The event will feature an incredible variety of beers from the local area, from across the country, and from around the globe. One of the most recent additions is Pennsylvania's newest brewery, Evil Genius Beer Company (West Grove, PA) who will debut their Christmas beer, Naughty or Nice, at the festival. Tickets are on sale and selling very quickly. Producers predict a sell-out, following in the footsteps of the Philly Craft Beer Festival which has sold out weeks in advance for the last six years. www.ValleyForgeBeerFest.com

Festival attendees are also invited to participate in the programming led by industry pros and local beer authorities, including Dr. Roger Barth presenting THE CHEMISTRY OF BEER; and Gary Monterosso, author of Artisan Beer and recently featured on The History Channel, will be debunking BEER MYTHS.

The event will help raise funds for the CBC, Committee to Benefit the Children, a local charity that provides resources for treatment, care and family support to benefit area children with cancer, leukemia and serious blood disorders. The CBC will be conducting a food drive and a toy drive at the festival. Attendees who bring a non-perishable food item and/or an unwrapped toy, will receive a free raffle ticket and become eligible to win great prizes.

The Valley Forge Beer Festival (www.ValleyForgeBeerFest.com) will have two sessions: 12:30-4:00pm and 5:30-9:00pm. A limited number of tickets will be sold. Once the event sells out, no additional tickets will be available for purchase. Tickets are $40 each and can be purchased at the event website www.ValleyForgeBeerFest.com. Tickets include admission to the festival, a souvenir tasting glass, an opportunity to attend the event's programming and the freedom to enjoy a 2 oz. sample of any of the beers at the festival. Designated driver tickets are $10 each. No one under 21, including designated drivers, will be admitted and all attendees must show valid photo ID for entry. Food will be available for sale. The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center (www.phillyexpocenter.com) is located at 100 Station Avenue, Oaks, PA, 19456. The Expo Center offers free on-site parking.

The event is produced by Starfish Junction and BeerHeads.com, producers of the award-winning Philly Craft Beer Festival, named one of the "Top 10 Beer Festivals in America" by Forbes Traveler and honored by Philly Beer Scene Magazine as the Best Beer Fest of 2011. The event is sponsored in part by www.PhillyBeerEvents.com, Philly's local beer calendar.
