Long Islanders Voted for Favorite Beer, Brewery & Bar Golden Tap Nominees Announced
BAY SHORE, NY. (May 9, 2012) – Organizers of the Golden Tap Awards Gala, one of the premiere events of Long Island Craft Beer Week, yesterday released the names of this year’s award nominees. The winners will be announced at the Golden Taps Award Gala being held at 6pm at the Boulton Center for the Performing Arts in Bay Shore, NY on May 15, 2012. Golden Taps will be awarded to winners in all aspects of the craft beer industry. The 2012 nominees are:
BEST LONG ISLAND BEER BAR:
Bobbique (Patchogue), Croxley’s Ale House (Farmingdale), Tap & Barrel (Smithtown), The Good Life (Massapequa Park), T.J. Finley’s Public House (Bay Shore).
BEST LONG ISLAND BREW PUB:
Black Forest Brew Haus (Farmingdale), Brickhouse Brewery (Patchogue), John Harvard’s Brew House (Lake Grove), and Southampton Publick House (Southampton).
BEST NEW YORK STATE BREWERY:
Blue Point Brewing Company, Fire Island Beer Company, Great South Bay Brewery, Greenport Harbor Brewing Company, and Long Ireland Beer Company.

Blonde Ambition (Great South Bay Brewery), First Bite Pale Ale (Spider Bite Beer Company), Port Jeff Porter (Port Jeff Brewing Company), Red Wagon IPA (Fire Island Beer Company), and Toasted Lager (Blue Point Brewing Company).
This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Mr. Stephen Hindy, Co-Founder and President of Brooklyn Brewery. The Long Island Beer and Malt Enthusiasts homebrew club (L.I.B.M.E.), sponsors of the Golden Tap Awards Gala, will present the Beer Pioneer Award to Mr. Michael Deinhardt, founder of Long Island’s first homebrewing club.
Tickets include admission to the semi-formal gala, beer sampling, and light fare provided by Bay Shore eatery Milk & Sugar. Tickets can be purchased through the Boulton Center for the Performing Arts box office located at 37 West Main Street in Bay Shore or via their website www.boultoncenter.org. Tickets are $55. This is a 21+ event. Funds raised will support Long Island Craft Beer Week (LICBW) and its charity partners. LICBW is a 501(c)3 entity.
