Local Farm to Table Dinner to Raise Funds and Awareness for Riverhead Chamber

RIVERHEAD, N.Y., August 20, 2015 - The Riverhead Chamber of Commerce's first Farm to Table Dinner will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Jamesport Vineyards located at 1216 Main Road in Jamesport, NY 11947. Inspired by the array of fresh local produce and meats, which pair well with local wine and beer, the six course dinner will put its proceeds directly back into Riverhead with all proceeds to benefit the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce. The dinner will start at 5:30PM with a welcome reception followed by a six course menu, each with a pre-selected wine and beer pairing for the guest's choosing. Advance purchase of tickets is required. Tickets and information is available at the event website:

The East End's Chef Chris Richards, head chef of CJ's American Grill in Mattituck and of East End Catering has worked to create a menu highlighting the local fare that Riverhead has to offer during these final summer months. "The vegetables, meats, and wines that are accessible lend themselves to a fresh, delicious menu," says Richards, who will be preparing the food for the event. With courses including artfully created takes on spring rolls (using local duck breasts) and surf and turf (with local striped bass), this menu lets the local, fresh, farm to table concept shine through. The Riverhead influence doesn't just end at the plate, as selections from Riverhead's own Jamesport Vineyards and Long Ireland Beer Company will be proudly poured at the event. The guest will be given a choice of perfectly paired beer or wine with each course. "This is a great way to show just some of the great food and beverage that Riverhead has to offer," says Andy Calimano, owner of award-winning event company, Starfish Junction Productions. "The beautiful vineyard setting will add true elegance to what is sure to be a locavore's dream," added Calimano.

Tickets to the Riverhead Farm to Table Dinner, which include a welcome reception, six courses, and pairings of beer or wine, are available online for $150 per person. All proceeds will go towards benefitting the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce which supports local businesses and community activities. All attendees must be 21+.
