According to the Beverage Information & Insights Group's 2014 Liquor Handbook," as the economy continues to expand, premium and super-premium distilled spirits are coming back stronger than ever. This premiumization trend occurring in every segment of the beverage alcohol industry has the consumer drinking less, but better." Now, with the return of the Winter Bourbon Festival, attendees will be able to try some of the best-selling and most desirable whiskeys all under one roof.
As a special treat festival goers will also be able to try some locally brewed bourbon barrel aged craft beers from their favorite Long Island Breweries, including Long Ireland Beer Company; Great South Bay Brewery; Blue Point Brewing Company; Port Jeff Brewing Company; plus some great brews from regional favorites including Two Roads Brewing Company (CT), Dogfish Head (DE), Victory Brewing Company, (PA). Check the event website for a full listing.
"Craft beer drinkers and whiskey drinkers share a passion for flavor, variety, tradition, and an artisan spirit," said Drew Dvorkin, owner of event host, T.J. Finley's. "We offer more than 20 whiskies on our menu, and our patrons treat them with the same reverence as the specialty and local craft beers we serve."
The Winter Bourbon Festival will feature more than 30 whiskies, including some very rare whiskies for sampling. Barrel-aged craft beers, cask beers and rare releases from local breweries will add to the festival's highlights. A pig roast and a special BBQ food will be available for purchase.
