More than 75 breweries and cideries will be filling the Expo Center, serving up samples of their signature best-sellers and seasonal creations--more than 100 beers and ciders in all. This year, Sly Fox Brewery will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary and have created a special brew to mark the special occasion.
The Sly Fox 20th Anniversary Ale is a Belgian-style Golden ale brewed with German, French and North American 2 row malt and hopped with German, Czech and Slovenian hops. Fermented with a special yeast strain to produce a complex fruity spiciness and dry hopped with their hop gun to add an earthy and vibrant hop aroma, this Anniversary Ale will be available for the first time to the general public at the Expo. "It's hard to believe it's been 20 years we have been doing this," said Corey Reid, Sly Fox Brewing Co. Sales Manager. "I personally find it very rewarding to watch this small family owned local brewpub develop into a award-winning regional brewery. We are proud to be a part of such an incredible list of Pennsylvania breweries'' added Reid.
Also new this year will be the Ugly Sweater contest and the Silent Disco, both sponsored by Sly Fox Brewing Co. and both are sure to get attendees in the holiday spirit. "We've created some great new activities for this year's event," said Alyssa O'Keefe, event coordinator. "The ugly sweater contest will be a fun holiday-themed addition to the event and there are some great prizes from Sly Fox. Photos from the Silent Disco are sure to blow up on social media, I just know that attendees will really love this," added O'Keefe.
The event will help raise funds for the CBC, Committee to Benefit the Children, a local charity that provides resources for treatment, care and family support to benefit area children with cancer, leukemia and serious blood disorders. The CBC will be conducting a toiletry drive for local needy families in their network. Attendees are encouraged to bring soap, deodorant, shampoo and much-needed infant diapers and wipes.
