PHILADELPHIA, PA. January 13, 2016 - The Philly Craft Beer Festival, the event Forbes Traveler called one of the "Top 10 Beer Festivals in America" and winner of Philly Beer Scene's coveted "Best Beer Fest" award for three years in a row, will return to the Philadelphia Navy Yard on Saturday March 5th, 2016 for another great celebration of craft beer and brewing. The Festival, which this year celebrates its 10th anniversary has some special surprises planned for this year's attendees. More than 75 of the country's best craft breweries will be on hand to offer samples of their finest brewing achievements to ticketholders at two sessions, a VIP session from 12:30-5:00pm; and a General Session from 1:30-5:00pm. Tickets and info:

"The Philly beer community has really rallied around this festival, they have since the very first festival we produced ten years ago," said Andy Calimano, owner of event producer, Starfish Junction.   "While we've seen a decade of changes in the beer scene, the one thing that has remained constant is the immeasurable passion and enthusiasm displayed by the people of Philadelphia.  They sure do love their craft beer.  They come out in record numbers each year to raise a glass with friends and colleagues at the Philly Craft Beer Festival," added Calimano.

Chuck Greenstreet, owner of Stockertown Beverage, was exhibiting his portfolio of craft beers at the inaugural event back in 2007. He recalls, after spending the day with brewers and distributors, "I think we all had a feeling that this 'craft beer thing' was going to be something cool and something really special." Turns out Greenstreet and his colleagues were right. The craft beer scene HAS become something really special! "I don't think any of us would've thought craft beer would explode the way it has. A whole new generation of consumers has embraced the bold flavors and small batch ethos of craft beer. It's a brave new beer world of flavors, creativity, and quality," added Greenstreet.

"Looking back ten years ago, the Philly beer scene looks like almost a different world. The amount of growth in both the bar scene and brewery scene has been exponential," said Mat Falco, publisher and editor of Philly Beer Scene magazine. "The brewery aspect of the local scene has really flourished over the past few years and has helped the Philly area become equally respected for its breweries as its bars," added Falco. When attendees are looking to try what's new they often venture to the beer festivals to do some sampling, find what's new and what's good. "I think the success of festivals like ours is that we offer a great experience to the attendees and they keep coming back," boasted Calimano.

For the 10th year, the event charity is once again, the local Committee to Benefit the Children (C.B.C.). "It is our great pleasure to support this group of extraordinary people doing extraordinary things," said Calimano. Representatives from the C.B.C. will be on-site to raise money to fund treatment, care and family support resources for area children with cancer, leukemia and serious blood disorders. "To date Starfish Junction has donated over $80,000 to this very worthy charity," said Calimano.

Philly's most popular food trucks including Wahlburgers, the Cow and the Curd, Kono Pizza, Nick's Roast Beef, Oink & Moo BBQ, Foolish Waffles and others will be there offering an amazing variety of street food for sale at the event.

The 10th annual Philly Craft Beer Festival will be held outdoors under tents, rain, snow, or shine on March 5, 2016 at the Philadelphia Navy Yard located at 4747 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19112. The Navy Yard is easily accessible by SEPTA and offers free on-site parking. Complimentary shuttle bus service will be provided for festival attendees from the Broad & Pattison SEPTA station to the festival.

The VIP session will give VIP ticketholders an additional hour at the festival, more intimate access to brewers, and the ability to try rare and sought-after beers that are only being poured at this VIP session.
