Starfish Junction Productions, producer of the award-winning Philly Craft Beer Festival, selected as one of the “Top Ten Beer Festivals in America” by Forbes Traveler and recently awarded the “Top Ten Beer Festivals in U.S.” distinction by USA Today, brings a circus-themed beer festival to the Philadelphia Navy Yard this summer. The biggest names in brewing will gather on the Parade Grounds at the Philadelphia Navy Yard on Saturday, June 3, 2017 for what promises to be the summer’s best beer fest. “This is going to be our best show yet,” said Andy Calimano, owner of Starfish Junction, producer of the event. “We can’t think of a better way to kick off Philly Beer Week than with this year’s star-studded lineup of breweries presented in a circus-themed event. Sword swallowers and stilt walkers will mingle among the local and national craft breweries to deliver a fun-filled event for the beer lovers of Philadelphia,” added Calimano.
This beer tasting extravaganza will feature an incredible variety of craft beers from the local Philly market, from across the U.S., and from around the globe. With over 60 breweries from which to sample beer, there is sure to be something to please everyone. Supporting the circus theme, local performers from the Squidling Brothers, a collective of circus freak show performers, will be performing during the day to amaze and entertain festival attendees. Stilt walkers, jugglers, and carnival faire for sale from local food trucks, will add to the day’s festivities.
Food will be available for sale from select members of the Philadelphia Mobile Food Association (PMFA), representing the city’s most desirable, delectable, and Vendy award-winning local food trucks.
The event will help raise funds for the Philadelphia Committee to Benefit the Children (CBC), a local charity that provides resources for treatment, care and family support to benefit area children with cancer, leukemia and serious blood disorders. The CBC will be conducting a food drive for local needy families in their network. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food products, preferably boxes of popular items like pasta and mac ‘n cheese.
