100+ Beers on Tap at Beer Expo Nov. 11
Special Events Celebrate Veterans

UNIONDALE, NY. (October 12, 2017) –The Long Island Great Beer Expo returns to where it all began ten years ago, the newly renovated NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Fall’s best beer fest will take place on Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11, 2017 and will showcase more than 60 local, national, and international breweries, offering more than 100 beers for sampling.

“We are thrilled to be back at the new Coliseum. It is hard to believe ten years have passed since our very first Great Beer Expo. It’s crazy when you think back to 2007, there were only a handful of breweries and brewpubs here on Long Island, and ten years later there are nearly forty. Thats really something to celebrate,” said Andy Calimano, owner of event producer Starfish Junction.

The biggest names in brewing are excited to be joining in on the festivities. This year’s beer tasting extravaganza will showcase breweries from around the corner, around the country, and around the globe—more than 60 breweries in all. The pay-one-price general admission ticket gives attendees access to more than 100 different beers plus admission to educational and entertaining beer-focused seminars. Among the breweries making their festival debut this year will be Jamesport Farm Brewery (Riverhead, NY), BrewSA Brewing Company (Freeport, NY), Millhouse Brewing Company (Poughkeepsie, NY), Fulton Beer (Minneapolis, MN), and more.

Adding to the attendee experience this year, “we’ve added timed releases,” said Calimano. “We will be offering special beers, available in limited quantities, offered at specific times until they run out. We’ve done this in other cities and it’s always a big hit because it gives the attendees an opportunity to try some rare, very desirable beers.”

Particularly appropriate since the Beer Expo is being held on Veterans Day, this year’s event charity is Project 9 Line, a local charity with a mission to empower veterans with reintegration through the arts and activity. A portion of the event proceeds will directly benefit Project 9 Line. “We’ve planned quite a few on-premise activities so that attendees can show their appreciation for the men and women who are currently serving or who have served in our military,” said Calimano. With several Veteran appreciation focused activities, attendees can sign a giant THANK YOU card, donate to the Care Package Drive, write holiday cards for our troops, enjoy comedy performances by veterans from Project 9 Line, and more.

The Great Beer Expo ( will have two sessions: 12:30-4:00 p.m. and 5:30-9:00 p.m. General Admission tickets are $45 (advance purchase) and $55 (event day purchase). All tickets are subject to taxes and associated fees.
