Pour the Core returns to Boston for year four, final preparations are underway.  The event’s overwhelming popularity is based on delivering a great attendee experience—offering a great variety of ciders to sample, educational seminars about cider production and enjoyment, plus the always-popular competitive cider donut eating contest, sponsored this year by Hard Cider News and Lookout Farm who will supply the cider donuts.  Advance registration is required for competitors.

The event will showcase many hometown local favorites from Massachusetts, including: Prospect Ciderworks (Boston); Shoal Hope Ciderworks (Provincetown); Stormalong (Sherborn); Carlson Orchards (Harvard); Bantam (Somerville); Artifact Cider Project (Everett); Ragged Hill Cider Company (Brookfield);  Pony Shack (Boxborough), Far From the Tree (Salem) and others.  Other national and international cidermakers will also join in on the event, with representation from New York, Vermont, California, Texas, Ohio, Maine, and as far away as Sweden, Spain, England, and France.

Consumers continue to show their love of hard cider and continue to explore the cider category looking for new and innovative styles and flavors.  “We’ve seen festival attendance numbers increase year-to-year, not just here in Boston, but in Philadelphia, New York City, Baltimore, and Long Island where we also host Pour The Core shows,” said Kristyn Dolan, event manager at Starfish Junction, producers of the Pour the Core: A Hard Cider Festival  franchise.  “This year’s event is shaping up to be our best yet—offering some really amazing ciders for the attendees to try,” added Dolan.  Some of Boston’s best food trucks, including Boston’s Baddest Burger & Sandwich Co.; The Bacon Truck; and Teri-Yummy will be on site selling an assortment of delicious compliments to the cider offerings.
