Belmont Racetrack to Host First-Ever Wine Fest
Local, National, and International Wineries Offer Tastings
Belmont Uncorked, 9/14
August 27, 2019—Elmont, N.Y. - Belmont Park Racetrack, home of the Belmont Stakes, will hold it’s very first wine tasting event with the help of award-winning Long Island event producer, Starfish Junction Productions. The event, which will celebrate wines from around the corner and around the globe, will be held on Saturday, September 14th, from 1:30pm-5:00pm in Belmont Racetrack’s North Shore Terrace Club House, offering sweeping grandstand views of the race track. Tickets for the festival are on sale now at the event website www.BelmontUncorked.com. Tickets for this special event are very limited, a sell-out is expected. This is a 21+ event.
Long Island, with its sandy soil and moderate climate, has a long history of high-quality wine production. Representing the local producers will be some of Long Island’s most-popular wineries, including Pindar Vineyards, Pugliese Vineyards, and Duck Walk Vineyards. Representing the west coast producers will be Niner Wine Estates (California), Rock Wall Winery (California), R. Steward & Co. Winery (Oregon), and the flagship wineries from the Kendall-Jackson family of wines: Gran Moraine, Stonestreet Estate Vineyards, and Galerie Wines. Making a special appearance will be California’s organic and biodynamic vineyard, Bonterra. Most impressive is the lineup of international wines, more than thirty in all, representing Italy, France, Brazil, South Africa, and Israel.
This year’s wine tasting glass is sponsored by Wine U Design, a local winery, and its culinary education center, The Cook’s Studio, both located in Hicksville, NY. Wine U Design staff will be on-site to chat about their unforgettable hands-on wine making experiences and, of course, pour their house-made wines. “We are thrilled to be a part of this inaugural event. We will be pouring some of our hand-made barrel-aged wines. They’re all made right here in Nassau County,” said Wine U Design’s Founder and Chief Winemaker, Vincenzo Saulle. “Chefs from The Cook’s Studio will be there with us to showcase the variety of hands-on culinary classes we offer, everything from paella and Chinese dumplings to mozzarella and fresh pasta.”
Belmont Uncorked will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 1:30pm – 5:00pm. Tickets are on sale now ($50pp) and include all wine sampling, grandstand viewing of the day’s live scheduled races, and a souvenir wine tasting glass. The event will be held in the North Shore Terrace viewing pavilion on the fourth floor of the Belmont Park Racetrack. A limited number of tickets will be sold. Once the event sells out, no additional tickets will be available for purchase. Food is available for purchase from venue concessions. Betting windows will be open for those feeling lucky. Designated driver tickets are also available for $12 each. No one under 21, including designated drivers, will be admitted and photo ID is required for entry. Parking is $3.00 per car. Belmont Park Racetrack, home of the Belmont Stakes, the third leg of the Triple Crown, is located at 2150 Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont, NY.
