Winter Bourbon Fest Returns
Rare Whiskeys and Specialty Beers in Bay Shore, February 23

BAY SHORE, NY. February 12, 2019 — Whiskeys and bourbon barrel aged craft beers are on tap for the 2019 Winter Bourbon Festival taking place on Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 3:30pm – 7:00pm.  The 6th annual Winter Bourbon Festival will be held at T.J. Finley’s located at 42 E. Main Street, Bay Shore, NY 11706.  Tickets are on sale now. This is a 21+ event.  A limited number of tickets are available.  For event information and to purchase tickets, visit www.winterbourbonfestival.com.

“People drink seasonally.  Starting in the fall, and continuing through the winter, people do a good deal of exploring and experimenting with different whiskies and whiskey cocktails.   They ask questions and taste-test to find their favorites,” said Drew Dvorkin, owner of event host, T.J. Finley’s.  “Attendees come to see what’s new from their favorite brands and to find popular trends and newcomers to the spirits industry,” added Dvorkin.

Reporting for the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States in 2018, Chief Economist David Ozgo pointed to the strongest growth in high-end premium and super premium products across most categories. One of the key drivers of growth included American Whiskey, up 8.1 percent or $252 million to $3.4 billion.

The Winter Bourbon Festival will give the whiskey lover a large range of styles from which to choose.  Attendees will be able to try some of the best-selling and most desirable whiskeys all under one roof.  As a special treat for the winter day, festival goers will enjoy the Irish Coffee Station, sponsored by Jameson.  Unlimited BBQ food is also included with each ticket purchased.

Craft beer drinkers and whiskey drinkers share a passion for flavor, variety, tradition, and an artisan spirit. “The Winter Bourbon Festival is one of our favorite events of the year.  Enthusiasts from all over Long Island, Queens, and New York City gather to enjoy an eclectic variety of whiskey and barrel aged beer. It's great to spend a winter afternoon—sipping amazing whiskey, enjoying a good cigar, and eating barbeque food with friends—all while supporting a worthwhile cause,” added Dvorkin.

The event will help raise funds for Gavin’s Got Heart, a local 501c3 charity with a mission to educate people about congenital heart defect (CHD) while offering support to families with children affected by CHD.  www.gavinsgotheart.org.

Back by popular demand is local cigar purveyor, Village Cigar Headquarters (locations in Babylon and Patchogue) who will be selling a variety of cigars including a selection made with tobacco that has been soaked and aged in Tennessee whiskey barrels.

Tickets for the Winter Bourbon Festival are $95 and include a commemorative tasting glass sponsored by Jefferson’s, makers of small batch bourbon; sampling of bourbons and specialty craft beers; and unlimited BBQ food.   This is a 21+ event.  All attendees must show valid photo ID for admission.  Tickets are on sale now at www.winterbourbonfestival.com. Another sell-out is expected.  T.J. Finley’s located at 42 E. Main Street, Bay Shore, NY 11706.
